Using Small Ideas in the Peninsula

By Em @ Marvellous Mornington Peninsula.

There’s fun to be had everywhere in the Peninsula as so many venues are now turning their attention to making their venues ‘family friendly’ and although I can’t take Charlie to all the activities (just yet) in Small Ideas book, where I can’t I can certainly take my nieces. Here I list some of the many activities in the book, and from just these activities you save over $80 so it goes without saying that we got our cost of the book ($39.45) back after using it just one weekend!

If you don’t have a book yet, snap one up from Small Ideas & we may cross paths in our adventures along the Peninsula.

  • Enchanted Adventure Maze, Arthurs Seat

Small Ideas- Free Child admission – Save $19.00

I took my nieces here in the summer school holidays and we had so much fun (I included I loved the tube slides). With 10 different activities, it’s easy to spend the day here especially when there are no restrictions on how many times you can complete the activities.

Beautiful gardens and mazes that are perfect for all ages. So pack a picnic, put your comfortable walking shoes and enjoy a family day out.

  • Rain Hayne and Shine, Balnarring

Small Ideas – Save 50% off family entry $20!!!

This traditional family farm allows you to get up close to the animals. Cuddle & feed the guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens in their enclosure. Walkthrough and feed the pigs, cows, sheep, donkey and birds. We were lucky enough to see the new piglets feeding which was adorable.

We enjoyed a tractor ride around the property for free and we purchased my niece a horse ride which she loved (an additional $5). They also have a small play area with swings and a sandpit, perfect for little bubs.
There is no cafe available so we packed some scones, jam and had a mid-morning snack with a coffee sitting at one of their picnic tables.

Excellent value for money, simple but rich in farm animal interaction. I can’t wait to take Charlie when his a little bit older and meet his mate Charlie the cockatoo.

  • Boneo Maze & Mini Golf, Fingal

Small Ideas – 2 entries for the price of 1 – Save up to $18

Boneo Maze and mini golf are more than just a maze of mini golf. There is so much to do – stroll through their beautiful gardens, explore the wetlands, play your favourite board games in mega size and during school holidays they have their new adventure zone open which has a climbing wall, bunny trampolines and pedal boats for $5 per ride.

Currently, they have their Lantasia Dreaming illuminated sculptures which look sensational during the day so I can’t wait to see them at night. There is just so much for the kids to explore and there continually updating the attractions here.

  • The Hungry Peacock, Tyabb

Small Ideas – 10% off total bill & Free Art session next door

Is all this making you hungry? I know just the place for you to fuel up on all things delicious while your kids PLAY yet again

I’ve been known to meet up here with other mummas and enjoyed a wine and lunch outside in the sunshine while the older kids played in the cubby house & sand pit. In the cooler months, we’ve sat inside enjoying breakfast while the kids played in the construction area and kitchen.  They have a great menu for adults and kids including munch boxes and purée for babies.

If you haven’t been to the Hungry Peacock it’s definitely worth the visit. It’s a ‘you gotta see it believe it’ type thing!

With plenty of places to sit and eat, why not pack a picnic lunch and for those of you that want to grab a snack or a coffee on the day their airstream cafe is open daily.

The owners of this fantastic farm have done a great job of combining a farm with so many additional activities. Not to mention very affordable and extremely friendly staff.
