Calling all tiny tots, kindie kids, yummy mummies, delicious daddyos, groovy grandparents and all music-loving folk! Come to swing your hips, howl and growl, catch a flying monkey, bang a bongo and even jump onstage to join the awesome 4-piece band, The Mudcakes, in this rollicking 30-minute performance.
STEM Storytime

Join in our 20-minute story-telling sessions, filled with stories, songs and demonstrations that celebrate all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths!
Storytelling under the Stars
11am, 11.30am, 12pm & 12.30pm
Learn about Indigenous Australian constellations and star stories in these 15-minute sessions exploring the night sky in the planetarium.

The Blast Off Show

Bug Bots

Try your hand at sequencing and programming our insect coding toys in this drop-in session. Can you make them avoid obstacles, do zig-zags and go through tunnels?

Mini Tinkerers
Be inspired to explore, test ideas, and get engineering skills into gear in this pop-up space: both a quiet retreat to relax and read and an active space for young engineers to build, create and play, with blocks, ball runs, gears and gadgets.
Federation Handbells
Get musical with the beautiful Federation Handbells! Create sounds or play a tune using the bells.
Bub Hub
Bub Hub is a space reserved for the littlest of little kids to enjoy some sensory exploration and play.

A brand new permanent exhibition for babies to five-year-olds where curiosity will be rewarded around each bend with surprising and intriguing sights, sounds and touch sensations. Ground Up: Building Big Ideas, Together will immerse young children in an imaginative world of sensory discovery and construction-play that will ignite their lifelong engagement with science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). Encourage your little learner to think big and nurture their curiosity to set them up with a foundation for future learning.
